I have been busy lately. Planting! I put in some tomato plants, onions sets, etc.
I also planted a Blue Girl climbing rose bush. I can't wait til it blooms! Those blue roses are so pretty! Hopefully DH won't weed whack it down like he did to my two other blue girl rose bushes! Planted some begonias, chenille, and black dragon coleus. The peonies are just about ready to burst open!
Can't plant anything under the kitchen windows! The dogs have taken a liking to digging holes there! Argh!!!
I got 8 new baby chicks yesterday from the feed store. 2 Araucana and 6 golden sex links. They're so cute!
I lost my only female duck last week to a hawk! He killed her as she swam on the pond! I think he killed her than realized she was to heavy to fly off with, so he left her there, floating dead! The 3 boys are sad and keep calling for her. I'm not raising duck from babies again! They are too messy and I can't do that really hard work like I used to.
Odd thing happening though with those male ducks. They are doing the mating thing with each other!!!!???????? WTF???!!? Anyone else out there ever encounter such a thing? One duck chases another duck, catches that duck, mounts that duck, and proceeds to position his tail end, and well.... 'do-it'!!! Totally unbelievable!!!!
We've had so much rain here lately, that my pond is spilling over the dam! I love the sound of the rushing water! Sounds like Niagara Falls.
Need some dry days though so we can spray the property for ticks! They are out already and they are thick this year so far! I hate those things!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow is Mother's Day......so Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! I hope y'all enjoy your day!
