Started out this morning letting the birds out of their coops. Nine ducks should have come running out of their run...nope, only 8 and no one left behind squacking...great. Don said that a couple of nights ago, one of the ducks stayed outside the run all night, well, maybe I will look in the coop and run first...then go of hunting for the missing one. Nope, no need to search long and hard, there she was. Big bird was huddled in the corner of the run, up against the fence. Wonderful I figured...

I got a week old chick that was hatched without the use of its legs.
I didn't expcet it to make it one day, but the little thing seems to be doing fine scooting around on its belly.
I have a two week old bantam white frizzle cochin. (And two other chicks.) For the past three or four days it's been doing a lot of head shaking and scratching at its head. Other than that, it acts fine. They are on amprolium feed and totally isolated from the outdoors where they could get mites or something. What would make it scratch at its head and head-shake so much? Thanks for any ideas. It is real peaceful and alert but doesn't have good balance. Should I attempt to fix it's wing or leave it and hope it heals by itself?
