One cold day when we had to get rid of some extra noisy roos, I stumbled on a neat trick for making plucking fly-- Wear those latex surgical gloves! I wasn't looking forward to plucking a wet bird in 40 degree weather, and my son had some gloves for a school project. I thought, "at least my hands will be dry." Well, wouldn't you know it, the feathers came out so easily with the gloves on! Now I know why those expensive pluckers have rubber "fingers".
mp

I spent 3 days this last week butchering the rest. Well, at least the roos. Put about thirty in the freezer. I've found a pretty simple way to put up more than a couple at a time. Skinning instead of plucking, definitely. Hang bird by feet on a board set at a comfortable level for you to work at. I used a 2x4 set across two ladders. Made 3...
