I need to catch a weasel. I saw it the other day and haven't let the birds back out. It is going to get hot in the coop if I can't catch this things
soon. I bought a live trap and baited with chicken livers. No luck yet and I haven't seen the thing again. I know we had dead racoons in the woods that I
made DH pick up last night.

We have been hearing some pretty awful sounds in the woods. It is like a warning chirping noise but much worse and then this screachy
noise. Saturday I went out and saw eyes shining in the tree tops. I think it is raccoons. It sounds like something almost dying. My dad said that raccoons
fight and make a lot of noise. I played some sound clips from the net and it did sound similar. I just don't know what else it would be. It is really LOUD
though. If I don't turn...

Hi, I joined today and need some more information on how I can trap or kill the weasel or mink that has been mutilating my flock of chickens over the past month or so. Before the attacks I had 60 chickens and now we are down to three. I have seen the animal so I know it is a weasel or mink. The first 4 attacks were all at night, But yesterday morning I put my 6 silkie chicks out in their pen in the morning after daylight (I have been keeping them in my laundry room at night since this...

My coop is a converted horse stable and in one of the corners I have 3ft high chicken wire to make the corner a triangle shaped brooder. Make any sense? Guineas let out the alarm tonight and I saw him right outside the coop with the guineas all around raising kane! I let out the dog and went a runnin, he took off down the driveway. Found the black sex link hen (Henrietta) that he beheaded in the driveway. Looks like she been dead for awhile so this must have been his 2nd visit today. Dog went wild runnin around. I was puzzled about their behavior...until I got that creepy "something is watching me feeling" and looked over my shoulder at a HUGE hawk sitting on my pool fence. He was within 20 feet of me (and the hens) He was so unconcerned with me that I walked right past him AGAIN, opened the back door and told the dogs "Skit that big bird"..then...
